Pricing

NetSuite Pricing

You can purchase the NetSuite licensing from either NetSuite direct sales reps or an authorized NetSuite Solution Provider.  Although you might think that it is cheaper to purchase direct that is not necessarily the case.  When you purchase through a Solution Provider you are still purchasing your licensing direct from NetSuite.  Solution Providers are not typical VARs where they purchase the licensing themselves and then resell it for whatever price they want.  With NetSuite Solution Providers the licensing cost is coming from the NetSuite partner channel manager who sets the price for the end customer.  So whether you buy from a NetSuite Sales Rep or a NetSuite Solution Provider either way NetSuite direct is setting the price.

NetSuite’s direct sales team sells licensing with the SuiteSuccess implementation provided by NetSuite’s professional services team.  SuiteSuccess is best suited for companies with simple needs in specific industries that want to follow best practices.  SuiteSuccess can still be used for larger more complex organizations but additional configuration and customization will be needed.  NetSuite’s direct sales and service team can be rigid during the sales cycle and implementation.

The biggest difference in getting the best price is spending the time to get the correct modules identified that your company needs, otherwise you can overpay for a bundled product with features that you will never use and missing other modules that you will have to pay extra for.

Think about renewals and lock your renewal rate increases into your contract.  Buy enough user licenses to do the implementation, but wait and buy user licenses for additional employees when you are approaching go-live.

Timing of the purchase can make a big difference in the discount that you get.  Customers can get discounts between 25% – 69% on the licensing.  Oracle’s Fiscal Year End is May 31 and they tend to offer higher discounts at the end of a fiscal quarter or fiscal year end.  But don’t wait until the last minute, about two weeks before the end of the month is optimal.

Company Size

The number of users that your company will have impact which base edition of NetSuite is best for your company.

  • Starter (select industries) – designed for less than 15 users
  • Emerging (select industries) – designed for less than 30 users
  • Limited Edition – designed for less than 10 users and under 50 employees
  • Mid-Market Edition – designed for greater than 10 users and/or more than one legal entity
  • Enterprise Edition – designed for greater than 1,000 users.

Each one of these editions has its own base price/month, plus user licenses/month (generally $99/month without discounts), plus any add-on modules.
